Pamula Sue Mathis

Mathis, Pamula S. lovingly known to many throughout her life as Pam Swirczynski, née Shearer, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

Pam was born on March 30, 1953 in Middletown, Ohio, to Rodney and Dorothy Shearer. A proud graduate of Middletown High School, Pam spent her life serving her community through her work at AK Steel, the City of Middletown, and Edgewood City Schools - the latter being the place she held closest to her heart.

Pam was fortunate to experience two great loves in her life: her late husband, David Swirczynski, and later, the late Ron Mathis.

She is survived by her daughters, Samara (Kyle) Muntzinger and Caitlin Swirczynski; her beloved granddaughters, Charlotte and Freya; her sister, Myrna Meeks; her sister-in-law, Lisa Sampson; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a small herd of grand-cats who were very loved, too.

Memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 10:00 am until Memorial Services at 11:00 am at the Woodside Chapel, 1401 Woodside Blvd., Middletown, Ohio 45044.
