Eldridge, Burchell "Gene", age 62, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, surrounded by the people who loved him most.
Gene was born on June 11, 1964, in Kentucky to Burchell and Sharon (Kay) Eldridge.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon (Kay) Eldridge; father, Burchell Eldridge; and brothers, Darrell Eldridge and Michael Eldridge.
Gene is survived by his daughter, Amber Watkins; granddaughter, Kaylee Watkins; grandson, Randall Watkins; son-in-law, Chad Watkins; chosen family member, Randall Watkins; sisters, Teresa Watson, Donna Eldridge, and Melissa Eldridge; brother, Wayne Eldridge; dear friend, Dave Delehanty; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Throughout his life, Gene was an independent contractor and business owner, dedicating many years to his work and taking pride in what he built. Above all, Gene was a loving father, papaw, brother, and friend. He had a way of making people laugh, even during difficult times, and his sense of humor will be remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Gene found comfort and strength in his faith and enjoyed reading his Bible. He also had a special love for animals and a generous heart that extended to both people and pets.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to hospice, his caregivers, friends, and extended family for the love, compassion, care, and support they provided to Gene and his loved ones during his final days.
Gene will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, strength, unwavering faith, sense of humor, love of family, and love of animals. His laughter, stories, and the memories he created with those around him will live on in the hearts of the people who loved him.
Though his time with us has come to an end, Gene leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026 from 10:00 am until Funeral Services at 11:00 am at the Woodside Cemetery Chapel, 1401 Woodside Blvd., Middletown, Ohio 45044
